This CLE is presented by Bill Lang, Hilary Noskin, Briggs Cheney, Bill Stratvert and Jill Anne Yeagley. Attorneys are especially harsh judges of themselves. It is not surprising with the high level of negative emotions that attorneys encounter throughout the workday that many of those in the profession cope with stress by using copious amounts of alcohol and/or other substances. Lawyer substance abuse and other addictive behaviors cause progressive loss of competence to practice law, which adversely affects the image of the profession and the practitioner. This seminar examines the lawyer's propensity toward addictive behaviors while seeking some solutions for these behaviors.
